DLA query

Hi, my Sis in Law has been told she's eligible for lower rate DLA. She has been on Incapacity Benefit for around 18 months. I'm/she is assuming that when the DLA starts the Incapacity stops but she will still be entitled to Income Support? Neither of us have any experience with these benefits so any advice would be greatly…

dla is not counted as income in assessing other benefits, so getting dla will not mean any means tested benefits are stopped or reduced. in some cases getting dla means that can also can claim income support disability top ups/premiums on top of incapacity.

i get income support +disabilty premium +severe disability premium +dla

my firned gets incapacity + disability premium of is +dla
