  • Hang on, if he never texts, wouldn't Asda mobile suit him? 100 minutes would cost him £8.
  • In April 08 i was about to cancel my contract with Vodaphone, they asked if i wanted to keep my number, i said possibly but don't really want to pay anything more than £10 p month, they offered me a phone and contract 18 mths £10 pmonth, good enough i thought for my teenage son, contract now nearing the end, noticed on my bill last month they'd basically doubled my bill ? rang them they say, oh thats' the way they do it ? after 15 months the discount stops ? so basically have to pay the last 3 months as double the cost, anybody got any views? couldn't get anywhere with Vodaphone ? no help at all !!!
  • thats unfortunately the way they do it.
got offered a similar deal last year, but the rep. did mention the last 3 months at a higher rate in the phone call. had a good mind not to take the offer but it was too good so accepted .
  • Thanks, just makes you so mad, they def.didn't mention to me when i was taking out the deal, nothing on any paperwork either, only states 18th on phone bill less discount. just also recently done same with orange, again another £10 deal 18mths, again nothing on paperwork rcvd, deal done over phone, just hope same isnt going to happen again !

you could also get him a 12 month sim only deal with o2 via quidco which will give him 800 minutes lots of texts and one free bolt on (any of 'unlimited' web, landlines, o2 to o2 etc)

this is £20/month and you will get £100 cashback from quidco making it a net ~£12/month.

you will have to buy a new phone though.

if you search the forums there a few threads related to the quidco/o2 deal and I think it was in one of the weekly newsletters a few weeks ago - the offer has come back on quidco since then.

  • After my minimum term finished with three I switched onto there £10 a month rolling contract which has 100 minutes and unlimited texts, you just need to make sure you have a 3g phone.
