Problem with Bike Disc Brakes
Hi
Just bought a new Dunlop Interceptor 26" bike for my son. Have just tried to assemble it and was going well until we tried to put on the front wheel. The bike has disc brakes and when the wheel went on disc brake was too tight but when you loosen it even slightly the metal brake pads fall out. Helpline closed for weekend and son wanted to cycle to school tomorrow. Would appreciate any help.
Thanks

The brake pads should be held apart with a spring, and may also be retained in the caliper by a long bolt.0

Hi,
Did you manage to solve this?
I just ordered one of these bikes myself. Is it easy to assemble? how much of it requires assembly?
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
Thanks0 -
save your money and get a bike that does not have twist grip gears and disc brakes. If you are looking to spend £200 or more goolge TREK and you can pick up a NEW 2009 model for £200 and it will Be a hell of a lot better then any bike halfords or any shed can sell, it will also last a lot longer and give you no grive>>.5thElement wrote: »Hi,

Im in the process of trying to cancel the order now after reading the negative opinions of the bike on another site!
I guess it was a bit naive to think you could get half decent dual suspension, disc brakes etc for 60 quid!0 -
Who is the bike for? Is it for one of the kids?

Just bought one of the smaller ones for my youngster and the plus point is secondhand prices are also very good if you need to sell.0 -
It was for me, and unfortunately i couldnt cancel the order, you can only cancel an hour after placing it?? and it's apparently been dispatched now.
Not sure what to do now, im gonna try get to a sportsdirect today to have a look at it, if i dont like the feel of it i guess i can refuse the delivery when it turns up? otherwise ill be stuck with sending it back at my expense!
I only want it to replace an older bike which needs the gears/brakes sorting and i need it to cycle 5.5 miles a day mon-fri..not an awful lot, hence not wanting to spend a fortune!0
