My local Asda reduced lots of their baby fruit puree recently to 13p each so i bought lots and mixed them with plain fromage frais and poured into lolly moulds - the kids loved them. Still got a few left, i think they might be nice with porridge instead of a dollop of jam maybe? Other than that you could stir an apple puree into a pork casserole?

I would ask on freecycle, loads of people probably just chuck them out.
I got some nice spice jars from Ikea, they're only £1.90 for a pack of 4.

I am sure if you ask around you would get plenty of jars for free, try your local childminder, nursery or school, agree they are excellent for storing spices.Slimming World at target0
