The labelling of the tops is a really good idea.
I label the container itself too so I don't put the wrong lid on when I'm in a hurry, it's amazing how similar some spices look at a glance!0 -
Healthy eating aim per day: 3 fruits, 3 or more vegetables, 3 low-fat dairy portions, 3 starch portions, 2-3 lean protein portions.
Weekly aim: to include 2 portions of fish (one oily), some nuts, seeds, beans and pulses.0 -
Spooky lovetopaint! I have those too and they all hang in the little hangy thing that you can put them in too. They are fab.0

I too have lock'n'lock small containers .I usually treat myself in John Lewis' sale after christmas to extra L'n'L containers.Although I do save the Lazy garlic jars as they are great with wide openings. There is a great farm shop at faversham called macknades who do a brilliant line in spices from all over the world and they are usually in just clear cellophane packets so they are not so expensive as the Swartz ones They are vastly overpriced I think for the amount in them and I hated the tiny openings which you couldn't get a spoon into.I use old 'Celebrations tins' for storing my L'n'L small containers in so I have two big bright boxes which I know hold all the spice boxes in one place.0

good idea to keep them in tins Jackie :T
air & watertight as they are, L&Ls won't keep out the light & heat that are among herbs & spices greatest enemies
those undeniably pretty :A little jars & racks are one of the worst ways of storing them, but they look good, sell well (lovely gifts) & make lots of money for the designers0 -
Lincoln Sainsbury's has just reopened, and I have bought packet of 8 or 10 small plastic tubs for 32p (75% off). Not sure if it is just an opening offer here, but worth looking.
Also they now sell in the frozen section garlic and ginger crushed in cubes so that you can just take one out and use it in a recipe, only 99p per pack, with loads of cubes in each pack.0 -
I was looking at using small jars in my foodsaver to store spices etc.
Baby food jars would be an ideal size for this ie 125g jars.
Does anyone use baby food sweet recipes for anything other than babies?
I like the look of some of the Hipp ones on the Tesco site.0 -

You could post a WANTED ad on freecycle/freegle - I'm sure there are loads of Mums who save them and never do anything with them!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

When my grandsons were babies I collected quite a few baby food jars. I find them useful for storing screws, nuts, and bolts etc. Another thing I use one for is making French dressing for salad. Good for shaking up the dressing and left overs can be stored easily in the fridge.
Apart from the pureed apple (like BOBS) with roast pork, haven't used anything else for cooking.0
