I wish we had booked with.....
But some customers just think quantity before quality!!
We (In the Industry) could see what was going to happen at XL Airways/Holidays, The company was in trouble for 2 years before the collapse last year.
To cut a long story, The company was disorganised and was out of it's depth.
At least with the BIG 5 you have some confidence that 99% of the time your holiday will depart on schedule and the company will deliver a good holiday for all.
We can all cut corners and try and save money - Just like the customers of XL did.
I booked flights and hotel with ebookers to new york for april next year. £600 cheaper than anywhere else.
Should I be concerned BA are going to collapse in this current climate?
Or the Hilton hotel chain?
P.s Just noticed you work for Thomson airlines so explains all

I booked flights through Ebookers in July 2009 and have had £10 a month taken from my bank account by a company called Shoppersdiscounts.co.uk - I called them and they said I signed up via Ebookers - which I didn't - seems I ticked some box on the website and that meant that I had agreed to membership of this company at a fee of £10 per month. Be very careful of the boxes you tick on the website. This is still not resolved - I wait for refunds. Other forums on here discuss the shoppersdiscount scam.
We were hit by this and it is really messy but just make sure you dont go through the link for free £20, it is a scam as you can also close it down and they use the ebookers payment details to take the cash but this shouldnt stop you using ebookers as long as you book with them and pay by credit card. Got ours back after a short conversation with the company.
On the question of BA think it was tongue in cheek but there is always the possibility it was talked about only a few months ago of problems and one of the big airlines going under but as long as you book with a credit card you will be ok.0 -

you register on quidco.
you search for who you're going to buy off
click a link, and make your purchase as normal
the "advertiser" revenue, is then passed onto yourself, rather than clicking an advert. there is a £5 yearly fee to use quidco, which is taken out of any clickthroughs etc.
read https://www.quidco.com and i'm sure you'll get more info than that, but that's the basics..
in 2 years, i've earned over £500..

No thank you. I like my airline travel to be scheduled, not charter. I like to collect air miles where possible. When I travel to the US, believe it or not, I don't want to go to Florida. I don't want to visit a travel agent, or be harrassed to buy their travel insurance, I have my own thank you.
No doubt holiday companies serve a market, they're just not for everyone.0
