Nokia Care point repair time?

Hi

about 3 weeks ago on the 24th I put my nokia N97 in for repair as the touch screen just stopped worked. I went to the nokia care point at the carphonewarehouse thinking the phone was under warrenty so it wouldnt take long.

I rang them a week later and was told there were awaiting a part and it shouldnt be long. 5 days later I get a text saying the fault could not be repaired by them so it has been sent to the repair centre.

Today almost 3 weeks later I ring the carphonewarehouse and am told its been sent back to the manufacturer and this will take 28 days from when there sent it to them.

Am I been taken for a fool here or is this common procedure.

thank you

Have they given you a replacement to use in meantime - its just a case of waiting but if its gone to Nokia themselves (they are pretty quick). I sent a phone to Nokia direct in 2006 and it was back in my hands in 7 to 14 days (fixed).

Have they offered any compensation? I doubt it of course but when a phone is not being used as a direct result of a manufacturer fault, you should be entitled some re-imbursement - lodge a complaint with CPW and Nokia and see if you get lucky. Always worth moaning I say (despite how rich, middle of the road or poor you might be).
  • good luck moaning with Nokia, lol I have tried this with absolutely nothing as a result. You should also consider your rights at consumer direct. with the sales of goods act you are in within your rights to expect alot more from CPW.
