    Thanks everyone .. I will add the Yaris to the list but I don't think she would take a Fiat (she had one years ago and did not like it), also there is no Chevvie dealer handy.

    Mookfish, the main thing with my mother is that she is terrified of breaking down somewhere and being stranded therefore she wants a car that she feels she can rely on (this is the very reason she is changing her Renault .. it broke down .. she has no faith in it any more and got all stressed out because she had no car for 1 day while it was getting fixed). You know and I know that it is just as likely for a new or nearly new car to break down ... however try convincing my mum ... she just hates hassle.

    Yes some relatives are not worth arguing with, have an autie who bought a new computer the moment windows XP came out, the new one was only marginally better than the old one, and all she uses it for is word processing and web browsing. But some people insist they are right,nomatter what.
