yaris and jazz always get review reviews

i think recently jazz was named most reliable but is pricey

micras are good too but not sure on the looks though:D

you might be able to get a good deal on nearly new yaris as it was updated few months back

I can vouch for the Kia Picanto, both my daughters have one, the LX version. I love driving them...when I am allowed to!! Boot is very small though, but with split rear seats it is still ok.

I test drove the Jazz and loved it, but wanted an automatic and waited a long time then started to look at a Fabia, my 2nd choice but still nice. As it happens i ended up with a jeep so I can pull the caravan, but when that goes I'll get a Jazz.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.

My 70+ yo mum loves her Yaris, cheap to run, small and easy to drive and has quite a high sitting position so she can get in and out of it very easily. Boot is more than adequate for her shopping.

The new model is based on the latest Punto - so ought to be a good BIG small car!!

Not sure about a Punto, currently have one as a courtesy car. The pedals are tiny and really close together and there is nowhere to put your clutch foot when not clutching, although there is a handy but useless rest to the right of the throttle. I have size 12 plates and constantly hit the throttle along with the brake or crash into my left foot when braking. Dont like it at all and it might be dangerous.

Dont get a fiat. Generally i have found that these are unreliable and have many problems. My o/h has a punto active sport 1.2 and it has been nothing but problems since she got in in one year in was back in the garage 5 time and had to have the aa called out to it 3 times.
I have had a fiesta for three years now and not had a problem out of it lots of space and good wee cars.
If it reliability you are looking for i would rccomend a yaris or a jazz. Toyota and honda have long had a fantastic reputation for reliability. My partents have had a toyota picnic for8 years and never had a problem.

The current Micra is not worthy of the name. Small cars are not small any more.
    Happy chappy

iv got an L reg micra, which is my first car and its a great little run around, dinky enough (which helps for squeezing into small spaces, comfortable and really reliable - iv had no bother with it at all! i can recommend it!

its also really good on the petrol, which is a bonus given the price these days (listen to me i sound like my dad  lol!)

my friend has a yaris and to me it feels much smaller inside but maybe thats coz im bias towards my wee car lol!

anyway HTH and happy hunting :D

Go for real money saving and convince her to keep her old car until it fails an MOT at least, why do people think that having a new car matters? I don't know anyone worth the time of day who would be impressed by a new car.

Sorry, rant over now, just had a stressfull day due to relatives.
