I think Virgin PAYG SIM's do not expire? No free lunch, and no free laptop

Because it's not money. It's talktime credit. You bought £10 worth of calls, and so you don't have title to that £10 anymore. The rule of the airtime credit is that it expires 6 months from the last use. Perfectly legal, and probably mentioned in the terms and conditions that came with your SIM.marionquine wrote: »How do they get away with retaining money that doesn't belong to them?0 -
Second time this questions been asked in a week on here. . .
Just shows people don't read there T&C's or do any research on the services their using.
If the sims not been used for a 6 months what the point of the network sending it a text? The odds are its been binned, lost or forgotten about. They'll just clog the servers up with a load of text that can't be delivered.0 -

Vodaphone added insult to injury by saying I would have to purchase a new sim to re activate my phone. This, when many providers are giving away sims + airtime or texts. No thanks; I'd rather recycle it. They could at least notify customers when their a/c is going to be disconnected. They had my number and e mail address. I am not impressed.
Not impressed there are idiots who dont bother their !!!! to read the small print.0 -
I thought this was quite well known0

I have kept my old mobile phone, always fully charged, in the car as a back-up in case of emergencies. According to the Vodaphone website, if you are a PAYG customer, they will unlock your phone for free. However, I found I could not access my a/c on my mobile so I e mailed vodaphone. Incidentally, I must have had at least £10 credit. This is the gist of the reply from them: note unrefundable.
If you do not use your phone for more than 6 months then the number gets disconnected and once the number is disconnected, we are unable to give you the same mobile number and also unable to resume your phone services.
Let me explain that if your number is disconnected, any credit that is left on this number is deleted and is non-refundable.
How do they get away with retaining money that doesn't belong to them?
I discovered today that my mobile is unlocked ( presumably because my number has been disconnected??) I have put in a sim card from Orange with £5 free airtime:j
so now am covered again.0
