Didn't quite catch which part of darkest Africa you were travelling to. It must be a part where they don't sell shampoo etc. (they probably the same brands cheaper than in UK).

Possibly the title of the thread might give you a clue as to why the question was asked
Simple question - simple reply which the OP now has.

I will but she's in turkey for a fortnight.

It is a bit of a strange one this one because im sure it says on your flight tickets dont put aerosols in your suitcases but everyone i know does.
While we're on the subject of what can and cant, can you put the gas cannisters for a hot brush, curling tongs type thing in your case or hand luggage, a lady asked me yesterday and i didnt know the answer if anyone knows it will save me ringing the airline, thanks.

Me too you just have to remember if they are brand new to spray them to release the pressure before packing them.

hi people ,i need some advice on whether i am ok to take large bottles of shampoo or deoderant, other cosmetics,in my suitcase,or am i still limited to small quantities.also can people carry lighters in there bags or pockets on the plane,am a bit confused people telling me different stories.

    much appreciated.
If you're going somewhere that isn't off the beaten track, you could just buy the stuff when you get there. It's a personal thing but I usually take a miniature or sample of shampoo, conditioner, etc and then have a good rummage in the local supermarket when I get there. It's also a good source of nice, inexpensive, presents to take home!

when packing larger packs of shampoo, sun tan lotion etc.. always open and sweeze out the air. They don't explode then, regardless of how much they are thrown around :)
  • At the risk of sounding patronising which I hope I'm not, remember that the 100ml rule applies to the size of the container, you cannot have a half full bottle of 200ml perfume and claim to be within limits, I believe this is one of the main reasons for confiscation as some view the liquid as the measure and not the container
