hi just read your diary from the start and just wanted to say congratulations on a good start and on your baby news.
from experience i can say that as you go along the debt free road the tumbling down of debts seems to get faster (well it is for me at the moment) so keep calculating your DF date, i do mine just to see if i can pull it forward even just one more month and it keeps me smiling for the rest of the month until pay day.0 -
Hi All
jellie - I had lists coming out of me ears, or that's what it felt like, so I have combined them into 1 and it's great....well it was til I started another one as forgot my list and needed to write things down! OCD I think!
bevan840 - I have listed loads on ebay this w/e. I am proud! whoever gets the gear is grabbing a right bargain - it's all from my reckless spend days and it's quite theraputic as feels like I am getting rid of the old me and in the mean time getting paid for it to pay off my debts. Probably sounds a bit mad to others but is perfectly sensible in my world! Lol.
Savingholmes - thanks for the kind words - always nice to hear from people in similar boat financially. Love you sig, inspirational to see it can be achieved - you're well on your way.
LemonTree - Fab name! Also thank you so much for your kinds words, I really do take so much comfort and/or inspiration from the people on here - it's so nice to hear from people who are actually doing it, reducing their debt and one day we will all be debt free. It's addictive!
I have planned my last payment which will be my debt free date. it's years away but not the point! It's a loan so can't pay it off like I would a card (ie can't pay and close the account online) as it will just come out direct debit. my plan is - i ahve 6 months or so from payiong my 2nd last last off til my loan end so in those 6 months I am going to save like mad and pay the loan off early - even if it's just a month it's the psychological factor.
Then I am going to have a month of calm and keeping the spends down as will be the norm (not going back to the old ways just cos I have a bit of cash) and then on the following pay - ie the first one where I have to pay NO debts - imagine that - I am going to treat my DH, 2 children, my parents and nana to a slap up meal and have a quiet celebration to myself (no one knows you see). So when I toast to good health - I really will be saying well done me, thanks MSE peeps!.
Oh how I go on - would anyone like to join me in my world :-)

I think I'm already in your world.
Congratulations :-)Sealed pot challenge 822

I like the celebration plans- I ought to think about what I'll do.

What a dark morning it is here. These last few days I have well and truly felt Autumn set in. I do like this time of year, but not when it's raining like it is today. I love it when it's crisp and clear morning and you ant to wrap your coat round you just that little bit tighter.
This morning my payment has cleared in the bank from my ebay sales. I hate how much they take off you and then paypal do too. Robbin' you know whats! Anyhoo, I have paid £21.40 (total amount transferred) to my Tesco Credit Card (EVIL) so that's well over the minimum payment for this month. Doubled it and more. That's good, but still a very long slog to go.
I have added it to my spreadsheet and going to add on my figures of the loose change challenge on too as a forecast.
If I can make £20 a month from loose change (first time, not sure how possible it is) and £20 a month from Ebay sales then that's an extra £40 a month I can pay off. Would be paying £190 a month off instead of the £150 I have allocated. The min payment's only £70 odd so should see it come down quickly. Here's to hoping!
I have a nice easy day today and my DD is being looked after next door at mam's so I didn't have to rush about like a mad woman. I am at work now getting myself ready for the day ahead *yawn*.
Have a good days peeps

I think I'm the only person round here who is not a big fan of Autumn. The shorter days make me feel a bit glum....especially when it gets colder and wetter!
You're doing well on overpaying- keep chipping away!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
I think it's just the cosy feeling I get from being all snug in front of the fire and a peaceful house on a cold night. I love going out walking the dog when you get a red nose form the cold but you're all wrapped up. I can't wait until the frost is underfoot when you walk on the grass - although this isn't ideal when the roads get slippy and people forget to take it easy!
I have told work about my pregnancy now so it's all out in the open. I feel pretty good about everything. ALTHOUGH I could have slipped into stressing a it earlier as I worked out how many dates til I willbe DB and it's 1183 which is forever away.
I have it planned for New Year's Day 2013 although I hope to make the final payments just before Christmas. Maybe it could be a Christmas present to myself!
2013 will be my year finnancially. I remember all too well how I got in this mess and I see people post on here the exact same stories. I hope I can teach my kids the value of money so they don't have to learn the hard way like me. All be it a good lesson I am learning. It's like breaking an addiciton.
I also have the idea floating around in the back of my head about saving up for retirement and so on. Having a nice little next egg for once I am debt free - try to continue paying the same amount I would have to debts, into a savings account! I won't bother adding that one to my spreadsheet just yet lol! One for the future,
Rain's starting here again, now that I don't like!
