Dookar, do you work for or have you ever worked for JC? I have, and I used to sign people on. It is very unlikely that they would enforce somebody seeking work when they already have a job - it is very easy to 'prove' you have been looking though and that's all that the OP needs to do.

With the greatest of respect, I would hazard a guess that at least 99% of FJR staff have never even seen the JSA regs or Jobseekers act, let alone read them.

What they do or do not do is immaterial.

    What? Who mentioned lying?

You can seek temporary work no need to tell an employer with a permanent position etc. The complaint was the latter, the former negates it.

However, lying could also be construed as deliberatly omitting to tell an employer relevant information, ie that he will be leaving 2 weeks after starting. Also, I'm sure the employer would be delighted to be given notice on the OP's first day!

Clearly you know more than JC staff then? You are just being pedantic and you know it. I hope you would ensure that you would put yourself to all the trouble and expense yourself if you find yourself in the same position - being so high up morally of course. It must be so perfect to live your black and white world.

OP I wish you all the best! You do indeed deserve to be given a bit of a break - afterall, it is not as though you have never paid into the system and spent a life-time taking out of it.

Oh, please are you being deliberately obtuse?

I was saying he can seek temporary work and so there is no need to ever speak to any employer with only permanent vacancies, let alone tell them about any other job.

If you only look for and only apply for temporary jobs you do not have a problem with permanent vacancies because you are ignoring them.

    Is it really that hard?

Firstly, you misunderstand me. Secondly, you are so wrong I'm laughing.

I am saying the OP could seek temporary work - a day, week whatever at a time, no need to tell an employer with a permanent vacancy that he only can do three weeks.

And, yes, the 'JC' as an organisation will enforce exactly that. I can't comment on what individual members of that organisation will or will not do.

Technically leaving this out maybe not be a lie but it's certainly short on the truth and in my eyes dishonest. You are asking a person to knowingly accept a job offer for a permanent position and not tell the employer you are leaving in three weeks. That is dishonest however you look at it.
    It's someone else's fault.

good grief, this is the last I will say on the subject:

I think you'll find joining the forces is guaranteed unless you die first.

I'll think you'll find that there are age, health and character requirements to join the armed forces so therefore an application is not a guarantee of acceptance.
