Hmm what to do in Bath.

firstly.. give Jamie Olivers a miss, totally underwhelming and you'll spend most of your time queuing to get in. Much better would be to try Fiorelli just off Queen Square, by far the best Italian restaurant in Bath.
If you like Indian food try the Bengal Brasserie, best Indian in Bath. Raj Poot is also very good but you pay a premium for them thinking they're the best  I'd avoid Eastern Eye though...
For Thai food, Thai Balcony is excellent, Suko Thai is also very good.

    As for things to do
Roman Baths are definitely worth a visit... about £10 or so last time I checked (us residents get in free thankfully). Likely to be busy this time of year.
A walk around the Abbey is impressive and sometimes they open the tower.
The new Bath Spa is supposed to be good but I've not been myself.

There isn't a great deal of other "things" to do... Bath is more of a city walk around and appriciate the buildings. Also the Bus Tours are pretty good.

Highlights to see on a walk around
    Great Pultney Street
    Pultney Bridge
    Royal Crescent
    The Circus (very impressive)
    Victoria Park

Hope this is of use to any future visitors.

Has anyone done the Portsmouth park and ride?

Just wondered as the plan is the Spinnaker and then Fort Nelson so it might make more sense to try that? Or not bother and park near Gunwharf - on a Saturday morning?

Are the buses really every 10 minutes? ;)

    Yes they are.

Loads of buses and usually half empty, from what I've seen.

    Thanks for the tips.
Had a good day out. Arrived about half 10. Didn't see any signs to the park and ride so decided to park in Gunwharf Quays (a very nice car park - love all the signs and little lights to show where there's spaces ;)).

Went up the Spinnaker - might have been a bit disappointed if we'd paid about £25 for the four of us to go up - but it was cool that it was free ;)

Then went round Gunwharf Quays shops for a bit (mainly the sports shops for OH and the kids) and then went on to Fort Nelson.

With the lovely weather it was a really good day.
