On popular request the usual Jan £50 prize for post of the month will be donated to the Tsunami appeal. However the winner this month will receive a bottle of champagne from me anyway :)

May I suggest that this feature is cancelled for this month in recognition of the Tsunami disaster victims, with the £50 simply donated to DEC?

Just a thought but, considering the strength of feeling amongst the members of the forums, it wouldn't surprise me if the winner would offer to donate the winnings anyway.

Alternatively, you could let the readership democratically decide on this by allowing "DEC donation" as a nomination option this month.

Hear Hear - Alternatively, we could still run the post of the month but make it clear that the winner this month is purely for recognition with the award being donated to the Tsunami Disaster.

In addition we could also turn this into our own little fund raising event with all proceeds being donated. Wasn't it lamiki who found a website capable of collecting donations with the ability of the "giftaid" inclusion.

Think this has to be the best post of the month anyway! :) And you'd be prepared to donate the money to the appeal so my nomination this month is for you, Reestit Mutton, for the well thought-out suggestion. :)
