"Laundry Room" vs "Utility Room"

We've just had a small extra room built onto the side of our kitchen which will house our washer, dryer, fridge/freezer, and some shelves for storage.
Just an idle hypothetical question as we're not actually planning to sell, but if we were... would you describe this as a "laundry room" or a "utility room"? Do you think that it actually makes any difference at all?

IMO none at all. That is as someone looking to buy shortly.0

Face it, it's a cupboard (jk) I reckon "utility room" is just a posh version of a laundry room. Depends on your demographic, I expect0

Interesting, I think of "laundry room" as a posh version of "utility room"!0

well if you took all the washing/drying appliances out when you moved, I don't see how it can be a laundry room! I would go for utility room. it is a room that can be utilised...0

I have a proper laundry room, complete with drying racks that are lowered on ropes. But I would call it a utility in this modern age.:D

As opposed to a room that can NOT be utilised......:rotfl:0 -
Does it have plumbing for washer and vent for dryer?
"utility room with plumbing for washing machine"0 -
I'd call it the laundry, but then I'm used to having one, as it is standard in houses in NZ. It would be a massive selling point for me, I hate having the washing machine in the kitchen.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000

Utility room in my opinion, laundry room sounds like a hotel or something!0

If you have enough space for drying clothes in that said room, then you can call it a laundry room - nothing wrong with that, but if it is the size of usual utility rooms I saw, where I wouldn't be able to dry my clothes, I would be upset if I came to see your house and you said you have a laundry room.
Be honest - can you fit an airer in there as well and still have space to walk around, it it just that you have space for washing machine there you want to call it laundry room? besides, your fridge/freezer would be there as well, so it is not only a laundry room, is it?..Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0
