need a good cheap provider for mother in law?
my mother in law is going to up grade to broadband,
she is not a heavy user at all but would like something along the lines of 1 -2 meg and cheap

any ideas?

I use NEWNET and so do my parents and inlaws. They are reliable and good value. I am guessing that the mother in law is not a heavy user n which case it will cost approx £12 per month with a 2gb download - oh and the speed upto 8meg. The cost is the same regradless of the connection speed.

Possibly look at Madasafish 5gb @ £11.99 (enter the word "cheaper" on the sign on and get £1 off) for 6 months and £16.99 for rest works out at £13.99/month.

Take a look at: https://www.v21.co.uk £9.95 per month if you take their phone option, which still allows you to use pre-select carriers. 2Gb per month limit speed up to 8meg.
But with all these, check on the cost of connection and how long the contract is. Also what cancellation charges there may be.
