my cat is always hungry!

I swear my cat is always hungry. We give him a rabbit bowl (those little brown things) of biscuits and 4 pouches- but by 9pm he's scavenging and trying to eat our tea!

any ideas on what would be the best food to feed a hungry cat? pouches are over £1 per day- just for the mog.

  • and he's a tom cat who has been neutered... he's driving us mad- I spend most of my meal times moving him from the dining table. he's getting better but still sits and begs like a dog until we feed him.I really don't think we're starving him- unless of course we are and don't know it. The vet said he was a healthy weight for his age.

    Has he got worms???

My cat gets 3 pouches a day and maybe some biscuits in addition or in place of a pouch. Odd meal treat of chicken/ham/tuna in place of a pouch.

He sometimes lifts up a saucer and drops it to hint "time to feed" in morning!!!
  • Has he been wormed recently?

When my cat was a kitten he would get the pouch out of the bin and scratch it to get the last bit out!!!
  • yes he had a worm treatment a couple of weeks ago- might it not have worked? could a vet check for me?

I might get him checked anyway if his appetite is unusual.

It wont be worms. Neutered cats can have ravenous appetites. It's prob just him being a greedy so and so!

We have the same thing with our female cat.
Youre not starving him. We have found that you have to completely ignore her while youre eating all the time. No eye contact, he will soon get the message.

We do this with ours and within a few minutes she realises that we are ignoring her and she wanders off.

Try it, but everyone at the table has to do it.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • My tom is the same - he eats for Britain, begs for food
