Isnt the Barclays Connect Debit Card issued on their basic account neither of the above, not quite 100% a full bank card but supposedly way better than a Solo/Electron? I'm only going by what i've read on this forum over the last months/year.

The Connect card on the basic account is a full auth visa debit card.

The Connect card on the standard account can be a full auth visa debit card or a full bank card.

Anyone who agrees and thinks basic accounts should now be scrapped in favour of more tailored full accounts

  • Duly signed. Agree that a personal offering on a standard account is far better than a separate product rage.

  • All signed, I agree that in the beginning they had a place but not now, and given that the banks had to be almost forced to introduce them as they cost money to operate with no return I would think they would be happy to get rid of them.
