(PLEASE NOTE I COULD NOT FIND A DIGITAL CAMERA SECTION AND THOUGHT THIS WAS THE NEXT BEST PLACE, BUT MODS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MOVE IT IF THERE IS A MORE APPROPRIATE PLACE. THANKS)
Hello all,
My GF has been moaning that we never take pictures when were out so i have decided to buy a nice cheap digital camera.
All i want is for it to be easy to use, small, good quality build and decent picture taking qualities and come with a charger so that it doesnt cost me a fortune in batteries and a case to carry it in.
My budget is £60 including delivery if possible.
I have done some research and had a look at the ones recommended in Martins Article.
But as its an old post some of the prices have gone up and most come with AA batteries which cant be recharged.
Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
(P.S I think around 8 Megapixel, give or take, is more than enough. Im not looking for a camera which will give me 15 Megapixel and warm my car on a cold winter morning for £20. I am a little realistic! )

Closest I could find to your spec is the Samsung ES55 (cheapest price online is around 70-80 quid) or the Panasonic DMC-FS4EB (£69.97 at tesco - http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.205-6587.aspx)
You end up paying a premium for the charger & lithium battery - so there are few cheap cameras that have them. I can't find many reviews, but the samsung has better lens specs (lower f point.. means it'll handle better in low light for wide angle shots)
Unless you go second hand/look for old models, you'll struggle to buy a camera for £600 -
samsung es15,amazon for £59,10.2mp0

ranjitchoongh,
You may find the AA batteries are a benefit rather than a drawback, rechargeable NiMH AA batteries are not difficult to find and a set of 4 with a charger can be had for as little as £10:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Power-Charger-1800mAh-batteries/dp/B000BO0ZZA/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1252618084&sr=8-4
My digital SLR uses AA batteries, and although their life isn't as good as lithium ion batteries you know that in a pinch you can throw in a few alkalines and keep shooting.
Also, if you're seeking a cheap camera, I know this sounds counterintuitive but try to keep the megapixel count DOWN, the reason being that cheap cameras have small sensors and cramming more pixels into that small space makes your pictures worse.0
