I'd be looking for fields too and some more hours in the day but realistically I'd love a Kenwood Chef.
The chickens are on their way as soon as my chicken house arrives so that's one dream come real.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
Sweet_Pea wrote:My O/S wish list could go on for hours, a small holding in the countryside with loads of room/outbuildings for goats, chickens, ponies for DD's, maybe a cat or two and a dog......a HUGE veg patch and a greenhouse, a lovely country style kitchen with an aga, with a big scrubbed pine table in the middle for all those home cooked meals..........More kids, (OK thats not old style)0

Perhaps we could start up a sort of OS commune
I would like to be self-sufficent (heating, electricity etc) but I would still need to have modern comforts as well.0 -
Jaybee (btw, thats what we nickname our daughter, that or Jaybes) I think thats a fab idea. I have always been interested in communal living, as long as everyone had their own space as well. I reckon it could be rewarding, and if everyone pooled capital resources and their skills, entirely possible.OK, it also appears a bit pie in the sky - but you never know!0

What's OS? Edit: Old Style, doh!
I'm another small holding, lots of animals, lots of kids, lots of time for me to do things I love.I believe the struggle for financial freedom is unfair
I believe the only ones who disagree are millionaires.Affirmation. Savage Garden.0 -

Nice idea though, bagsy the quiet bit on the edge, furthest away.“Pleasure of love lasts but a moment, pain of love lasts a lifetime.”0 -

Oh I see...an OS 'WISH LIST'....here was me being much more practical. Like I'd love a big roll of cellophane to finish off some of my HM pressies...
Yep put me down for the small holding too. DH and I are intending to sell up when the youngest leaves for Uni (Four more years) by then we will be one year left on our mortgage. (We have lived in this home 20 years today!) We thought rural Wales... a 4 and a half hour train journey plus a drive in the car from where we are (London) just about far enough away without going splash.
We have 2 x plots on allotment already (20 rods). I have Aga, scrubbed pine table, pantry, garden (and a couple of sewing machines) - all I need is the view out of the window to go with it.
DH wants to be off grid, is getting excited watching "It not easy being green" and is adding to his wish list, running water, drinkable spring water, and a couple of acres of woodland for fuel.
Prices are just about keeping pace with us...we should be able to do it. But just have to get through the next four years as DH's work is slack at the moment.
Regards
Kate0
