    Cooked or clucking?
  • Alive and clucking! :p Of course, if they came with a smallholding in beautiful countryside then so much the better.

My O/S wish list could go on for hours, a small holding in the countryside with loads of room/outbuildings for goats, chickens, ponies for DD's, maybe a cat or two and a dog......a HUGE veg patch and a greenhouse, a lovely country style kitchen with an aga, with a big scrubbed pine table in the middle for all those home cooked meals..........More kids, (OK thats not old style) Thinking about it, this is what I always wanted when I was little. Ive got as much chance of ever achieving it as I have becoming queen of England. But its nice to daydream. Id have to lose OH though as all those animals would be his worst nightmare, and more kids too, lol.
(This is why I always secretly hope I DONT win the lottery, as OH would be off somewhere hot and tropical and I would be heading somewhere south probably in search of smallholdings.)
But if I was being more realistic my biggest item on my wish list would be more time to DO all this O/S stuff, cos it could totally fill my hours 24/7 if real life didnt get in the way.

That's my dream as well, along with a rocking chair, patchwork throw and ticking clock. There would be a pantry with lots of home made goodies lined up on the shelves, and a cool room/diary off to one side with cheese, yogurt, eggs and bottles of home made wine.

Ever since I was a child this was what I wanted - twill always be just a dream now.

We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.

I thought I was one of the only people who dreams of a smallholding on here, now there's 2 others in a short time!
If I won the lottery I wouldn't be going off to warm temps either ;)

    Would be looking for fields!

So yes for me, a smallholding please. And a few lovely old breed pigs to go with it :)

Another for a smallholding - somewhere nice and warm, not the UK!

The smallholding sounds good to me too but more realistically. Chickens & an allotment would be wonderful. Maybe when I retire then I'll have more time to 'grow my own' & it'll come true.

By the way - congrats on giving up the ciggies beer2006. That's VERY OS & if you save all the money you'd have spent it might keep the dream alive.
