Does this sound fair for installing french doors?

I agree, two days job minimum I would say. More like 3 or even 4.

Hi
I am looking to replace a window with French Doors and have had a quite for £1,300 to remove old window, cut down brickwork, install new UPVC patio door with Georgian bars, plaster.
Do you think this is fair?0 -
Ha - half a day!! I almost fell of my chair
Both prices seems reasonable to me (Tricia's and nicksta's)0 -
Not sure if the quote is reasonable but to give you an idea of the time involved I just installed 1800mm Solid Oak doors in my property replacing a standard door.
Doors cost £675 inc delivery. Steel lintel cost £120.
Took 2 of us approximately one day to knock hole through wall, insert lintel and make good the opening. It then took 2 of us about 4 hours to install the door and then about an hours plastering to make good the walls.
I would expect a skilled person to do this quciker. Why not provide all the materials/door yourself and just get a quote for labour?0 -
upvc french doors £300 1.2m wide standard size
approx £400-500 if made to measure
and maybe 2 days labour
wouldn`t pay no more then £10000
