Does this sound fair for installing french doors?

Hi,

As the title suggests, I have beenig trying to get quotes for installing french doors but have NO idea what kind of price the job should cost.

Does the following quote sound fair:

To brick up wall (old door I having taken away), cut down window opening, supply and install French Doors (1200mm wide), two new lintels, steps built, roughcast bricked up doorway, plaster inside bricked up doorway and finish French Doors internally

So far this is the only quote I have as I am having trouble finding someone to even come out and quote for the job!

I live in Edinburgh if that makes any difference!

Are they providing all the materials and taking the rubbish away?

There are a few parts to this job:

1] Removal of old door and making good, using time/materials
2] Supply of new french doors
3] Removing the rubbish

Are they doing all that, or just 1 and 3, or just 1?

Of course, a price!! I have been quoted £1995.

Are the french doors pvc or hardwood? Price seems fair.

I couldn't see a price in the opening post either.

But I am interested in the responses as I am considering changing my patio door to a wooden french door.

The doors will be white PVC.

Personally, I don't think that's a bad price.

1/2 day job to knock holes in walls, fit doors, rebuild etc?! BONKERS!
