Whats the best 500mb or 1gb

Hi all
Looking at getting a new mobile contract as mine is now due to end.
Looking at different providers i notice that the unlimited internet usage differs from company to company. Some say usage is 500mb and others say 1gb which is best as i will be looking at a deal with free mins free texts and free internet.
Also who is doing the best deals as i am on t mobile at the mo but dont mind changing to a different provider.
I am looking at getting the nokia 5800 or the samsung jet and paying up to £25.00 a month.

I have just done a similar thing and these were the offers i found out

All offers are 24 month contracts. I tend to find 18 month contracts are about £5 pcm more expensive. Although as you can see from vodafone below you can push your existing provider harder by requesting a PAC code and getting them to lower there price.

Orange - Dolphin 30 with free Nokia 5800
    600 Mins, Unlimited Texts, 500MB internet - £24.46 pcm (~£22 with £50 cashback from TopCashBack.com)

Vodafone - Rentention offer with free Nokia 5800
    600 Mins, Unlimited Texts, 500MB internet - £19.46 pcm

    02 via Dial-a-phone with free Nokia 5800
    600 Mins, Unlimited Texts - £25 (£16.66 with £200 cashback)

I went with orange as i had good customer service with them in the past, and they have a mobile mast in my university car park so have the best signal at home and university.

    Now 500MB vs. 1GB.

1Gb is 1024MB, although i can forsee they rounding to just 1000MB. So basically you get double the bandwidth. It depends on usage but i cannot see many people topping 500MB on a phone unless they use it on there PC as there main internet. Consider what you will want to download and weather or not you require that much bandwidth.
MP3's are like between 2MB-8MB each so you can download usually at least 60 a month.

By the way, are you sure they mention it as unlimited internet. As far as i am aware the only way you can provide unlimited internet is to cap speeds not download amounts if they have a fair usage policy. As my previous contract was with unlimited internet but i got charged for going over an undisclosed limit (120MB) but trading standards kindly resolved for me, forcing dail-a-phone who sold the contract to cough up all charges i had occurred.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
