eBay's been operating in the UK for 10 years now. Just found this email in the murky depths:

"With effect from July 4th, 2000 all items listed for sale on eBay UK will be subject to a listing fee.

When eBay UK launched in October 1999 we were pleased to waive listing fees for UK members who listed their items in pound sterling until July 4th 2000. The UK site has since seen incredible expansion and as the site grows in popularity we need to ensure that we maintain a consistent high quality of items for sale."

That's odd, I've been a member since 1999 and I don't recall ever having free listings? Strange what we don't remember isn't it?

I did used to have to pay more in fact, my regular business auctions used to cost 35p per item (20p listing fee and 15p gallery) but I now only pay 15p which means I can list more and try out new lines.

I've been a member since January 2000, but didn't start really using the site until late 2002 when I needed a fiche reader for my family history research :)

Am trying to relist some bits that didn't sell from last time around, but they're showing "fees so far" once I've edited.
Tried a straightforward re-list and that came up with fees too.
Doesn't mention relists being excluded, so rather miffed! :( (Not, and never have been a business seller, so can't be that. Just 1 small personal account.)
Do I need to create a whole new listing?

P.S. Will be posting this and running, so please don't think I'm ignoring any replies- off to partake of my prize to see Gloucester play London Irish!
Will check back on our (hopefullly triumphant!) return.

I've just tried a relist on a £15 item and it has allowed me to relist for free.

Check the eligibility make sure there is nothing excluded in your listings..oh and make sure you are on your private account and not a business one.
