Mobile Phone Repair..HELP!
 Does anyone where I stand with this???
My DD has a 18month contract phone Sony Ericsson W5801 with Orange she is 10months into contract. Her phone turned on but the screen remained blank, went into Orange they told her that she has to send it off to Sony Ericsson for repair, which she did costing £5.50 for next day delivery which they advised her to do.
Got a letter this morning saying the phone is 'un-repairable under the Manufacturer's Warrenty' ?? and the repair is excluded from the warranty terms and conditions? have never seen or read about any warrenty, terms and conditions? They are saying it's un-repairable due to 'cracks in resin'..customer damage? how very conveinent for them that it's our fault.
They say that if she wants the phone back un repaired then she has to send £10.00 + VAT £11.50 for them to return it, if not it will be disposed of within 28days.
She sent the phone away thinking it was a easy fix as it worked except for the blank screen.
It all seems a bit of a cheek to me, she will not be happy when she finds out, (she's at college at the mo) I am angry that they now want £11.50 to return the phone.
Any ideas as to where I stand with this, as they seem to be taking the P'

what exactly is the fault? if you don't know call them and ask them.

Qiuck update, have been in touch with Trading Standards and have been told that who ever you buy the product from they are liable for repair, so Orange should never have told me to send to Sony Ericsson.
Have written a stong letter to Orange stating that they are in breech of the Supply and Services act and now just hoping that they will replace my phone.
