Not yet, sorry! I have to be honest - right now, I don't care, cos guess what! I nearly have a living room to sit in! The Electricity Board people, whoever they are, have been today, and signed off on the electrical work and done something to the meter that means its finished. The cable I bought yesterday, for a whole £1, worked, so the tv works. I rearranged the furniture that'll be staying, and its really starting to look like a proper room. I can even use it the way it is now: still needs the chimney balloon, a clean window, a clean sofa and curtains, and a draught excluder for under the stairs, where the floorboards have some *big* gaps for now - but its on the way.

Doctors is open 8 - 11am tomorrow, I'll do it then, promise - but the rheumatology thing was much more important, and thats already sorted.

Off to wander about on the boards for a bit, haven't been able to get on today.

Great news on the living room. You better have some ideas as to what to do with yourself when everything in the house is as you want it. Not too long now by the sounds of it.

Thank you all for being pleased for me :j

Thats a really important point you made there, cherisong! In truth, there's lots and lots of minor jobs to be done - a lot of the house needs painting, especially as I've had builders and tradespeople in and out for months, but thats going to take a back seat for a while.

What am I going to do? I want a life! I want an evening class of some sort - I hardly care what at the moment, as long as it isn't boxing or wrestling :rotfl: And things are in really different places in this house: the living room at the other one contained the desk and lots of official paperwork, plus the dining table, and here both those things are in different rooms (the office and the kitchen respectively).

Its going to be wonderful to use the *whole* house. So I think the craft stuff is going to be in the living room :) there's some lovely projects I can get going on. Cookery - batch cooking thats gluten free and vegetarian and wholefood :D - girlie stuff - I've wittered on before about how tempted I am to dye my hair - and you never know, when the girlie stuff is on the way, I might be on the lookout for a bloke :D:D:D

:j:j:j How exciting. All the lovely things that you have planned. Sounds to me like the new house is opening lots of new doors for you KC.

I must take a leaf out of your book and have a look at some kind of evening class. I am fancying Tai Chi again.

Also with the girlie stuff I think that it is good to pamper yourself and ;)to the man :) I found my man when I had started to invest in myself again. I think that the new found happiness in your self increases confidence and then attracts lots of new people, be it men or women. Opens up a whole new world indeed.

  • How exciting about your living room being done KC - that will make such a difference to the house as a whole to have that done - and I suspect the other stuff will flow on that much more quickly as in a lot of ways that's the important thing as it will be where you spend a lot of time. Far healthier to have "work" and "me time" apart from one another too.

I've come to the conclusion that I want to start planning some improvement works to be done here too - I've just been browsing bathroom suites....! :o I lead such an exciting life...

The fact that you have a separate room for your office is just brilliant. I would love that.

We have just got back from the local town where DH carried all the bags for the final stocking fillers, picked curtains and bought the wallpaper to finish the living/dining/office room that goes up the stairs to the landing.

By the end of next week it should be all done and the decorations up :xmastree:

Are you having a tree KC?
