Taxi, you're right to mention that - I was thinking the same myself, if the subsidence costs £1300 to put right, and I pay an excess of £1000 and lose the no claims bonus for £300 or whatever, its not worth it. Thing is, the structural engineer *hasn't* called, if he doesn't on Monday I'll be tres narked.
Glad I reminded you about the flasks! That little one saves me a fortune, and time as well, actually - I drank my tea on the 2nd bus journey outwards - a 45 minute one, that made quite a difference timewise.
I managed to buy fairly wisely on the mystery shops - all 3 needed me to make purchases. So I bought some trouser hangers, some perfume, and some groceries, including some pear cider :rotfl: fancy a mystery shopping company paying me to drink cider!
I've just inputted the first, fiddly shop, and had the free bingo on in the background. They credited me with £2 for hte h*ll of it, which they do every so often......... and I won £26! Fank u very much!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ecky thump, this is the thread to be on if anyone wants a lucky gl gl gl gl:j....unfortunately i don't ( hate bingo) but i like being here:D
Hope the quote is OK on Monday...i will have everything crossed for you:cool:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I like you being here too! And being on your thread. And ..... okay I'll stop.
The free bingo is odd - I think, the more you do, the more their computer recognises you. Dunno really - just glad they're sending me money!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I think the computer would faint with shock if i went on a bingo site- i did try, honest..i just couldn't force myself again after one night of insomnia, i found the owls thread instead..Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Hang on a sec! Don't think I *like* the bleeping stuff!:eek::eek: I can bear to have it on in the background, since I have to be on the computer right now anyway - and actually, I do sort of enjoy the countdown - 15 - 14 that kind of thing. And racing back to the computer every 2m if I'm in the kitchen (the freebie plays between the hour and half past, randomly) gives me a bit of exercise that I desperately need. But..... enjoy? I'm seriously working hard at looking for silver linings in describing the positives here.
:o:o
I can sort of understand land bingo the way it used to be played - marking the cards, chatting with your mates, having a drink at the bar, listening to the compere and the comedian. But this stuff....... its mind numbing, if thats what you're actually doing. I honestly don't know how it can qualify as entertainment.
Watching for the free game keeps my adrenalin too high as well, actually- I often stop after 7pm and have a normal evening. But needs must when the devil drives, and all that.......that weekly shortfall of mine isn't getting any smaller......:(

Aww.......... I'm inputting/reading fanfic/posting on here/playing sleepy squares from that physics site that Archna pointed out in the weekly email....... I hate everything about being this poor/this much in debt, but in 5 weeks, bingo has made me £100 - to net that much from mystery shopping, for example, I'd have to do much, much more.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That's the beauty of this site there are ideas for everyone and we all take from it what we need.
I was just having another philosophical thought..as you do..my current salary is 4x more a month more than i have been used to. I don't overspend, i claim back and have a separate expense folder, yet i still feel like it is not enough. I think i am doing something wrong and Mr.B is trying to make me feel guilty for not helping him out a bit more- well i would but, i am covering more expenses than he is re the children and budget...i think i have just answered my own question/ thought there.lolBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Lets raise a glass for philosophical thoughts! And wow, Bob, I didn't realise the increase in salary had been that steep - thats brilliant :j:j:j
Its a well known phenomenon, and I've seen it countless times, that we get used to a new level of income/new events/new anything very quickly - I've heard it argued as being part of our psychology that evolved way back on the African plains. You're just being a good hunter/gatherer!
And as for me........ I've finished inputting. My bum is sore from sitting here for two hours........... and I can have a glass of wine now, to relaxez for the evening, after I get changed.
**KC sighs a happy sigh**
See you tomorrow, Bob - and to paraphrase Brucie, Keep Philosophizing!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
