Ooh, you bloke, you! Spare Rib was a feminist magazine. **The** feminist magazine - named after what made Eve from Adam, his spare rib, irony, geddit?
Yep, Eve was the original "low-rate teaser" - she only cost Adam a rib. Every woman since, has cost their blokes an arm and a leg...Its the only piece of irony in the whole 1970s women's movement, I assure you .... Necessary as it was at the time, its wince-making now
I thought that was because feminists didn't believe in ironing...Z, I shall treasure those questions forever :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I spit my tea and biscuits onto the keyboard, and it was worth it
I can't believe you wrote that
That's mild...
And anyway, I love my broomstick
And so you should. :kisses3:
So don't spit a biscuit over that as well..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Tee hee.... just caught Z's final response in our little convo yesterday ...
Anyway, today? omigod, the builder phoned yesterday, and he's coming along tomorrow - which means clearing the office of as much as I can  tho not too much in case they decide to do the outside work first. This is about:
- finishing off the bits I arranged for them to do - curtain poles, bath panels, blah blah.
- installing the 2nd toilet
- putting the loft insulation up.
Said insulation is dumped in every corner of the house, and it will be wonderful to get it where it belongs.
So my tasks today, should I accept them (well, yes I do accept them, they were *arranged* by me :rotfl:):
- print off 2nd mystery shop thing for tomorrow.
- do the m/s for today
- input m/s
- collect washbasin and whatnot from the shop, finally.
- check out a cc for 0% purchases - now I've had one refusal, I can see not getting *any* others, but time will tell.
- clear more of the office.
- paint a bit of edging in the kitchen.
What fun :j

Morning.
I am stumped by MS - registered with somebody who I think if I remember rightly sounds like the bit between the train and the platform, cant remember who they were because the only thing they ever offered was testing certain well known food chains and as I am a vegetarian there was no way I could do them. Also it meant me spending money first which, in theory is fine, but I cant bring myself to part with money for meat. Sooooo one day they phoned me up and asked me to do an urgent one, when I told them I was veggie she just laughed and said it better that I cancel my registration with them then. Have no idea who else to go with.
Good luck with the CC applications. Is it worth phoning LA to check they now have you on the electoral register. You can register on line as well. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. No way I'd do that either, cherisong, being veggie also! I'll pm you the names of the ones I use - I do banks, the odd coffee shop, a shop or so, and some medical ones, which are weird :rotfl: I've definitely learned not to buy anything that I wouldn't buy anyway, if you forget one tiny thing, they won't pay you, and you're out a tenner or so, not good. Its only happened to me twice, but thats enough - there's a couple of hotel ones, but I'd never do that, because thats almost £100 you're going to be out if something goes wrong  not unless I was doing it anyway, as I say.Good luck with the CC applications. Thats a good idea - I'll try that out, thanks.redsquirrel80 wrote: »Well done for telling the man on the phone

- and I also spent an hour or so collecting the stones in the so-called gravelled area - lots of them are just plain chalky type things - boring, but necessary. Some are lovely, bought in gifty type shops - opalescent. Some are flint chips, or things from the beach.
These people were weird - the nicest ones are hidden, they've scattered shingle over a paving stone, and put the level of the chips up to exactly the entry point for the underfloor ventilation - you'd think they were trying to hide the nice stuff! Plus, next door's overflow is going almost all the time, so the soil next to the fence is absolutely soaking .... maybe I could have a bog garden? Not what I planned, but still ....
