glad you've finally arranged your weekend up north. I know you'll be busy with your family etc. but if you have a free half hour and want to meet up for a coffee, pm me.
Agree with hypno, you definitely *sound* more energised since the move.

It has - partly because I feel less weighed down, partly cos it was only when I moved in that I realised how far from "ready to go" this place was - but its only superficial, thats the important thing, unlike the old place, which was a real weight around my neck.
Are you working as usual on that Monday 18th? My mum's off on a WI trip, so I'll be wandering about Liverpool. I quite fancy going to Bootle or Aigburth, but if you're around, I'd rather meet with you.
Will pm you.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC have pm`d you..... I have only been to liverpool three times while up North ... But I loved the India buildings..and the Royal Liver Building... I spend a huge amount of my time in Manchester it is a city I have come to know and love....
mmmmm need to check out Liverpool again lol... My daughter has just been recently to see a band there ( muse ) and said it was great....
Bounced a pm right backatchaAh, The Three Graces - challenged by the weirdness of the new Pier Head, but Liverpool never stands still. Its a great place :j

Hi Kc
Blimey - you have been busy on your diary.
It's so great to see you energised on the diary as Hypno said - but also........ seeing you the other day in your new home was so uplifting - the move has made such a difference to you and you really are so much more bouncy...deffo the right decision...go girlie go
Weed membranes - hmmmm....perahps we can investigate on next gardening day together - I have old compost bags I can bring down that work a treat :money::money:...and Roundup is great for killing nettles stone dead... i.e. please don;t buy anything yet cos there could be an MSE way.
(Personally I'm more concerned with that horrible Sedge you have......and getting the piggies grazing your grass before your lawnmower does :rotfl::rotfl: )
Great to see you Hun and so pleased that you are getting yourself together......:T:T:T

Thanks Wol, my energy is definitely flowing, you're right.
Confused about the weed membrane, tho - don't remember what we were saying about thatdementia, moi? However, I do have a megabucket thing of Roundup already, so I promise I won't buy any more. The ratted sedge concerns me too - I'm glad to know what it is.... as far as the garden goes, I've got to get a couple more bags of carp into the landfill bin tomorrow - I can't start a compost bin yet, there's just too much stuff. I'll be working on those sad buddleias, try and rescue them and open the fence up for being weatherproofed against the winter.
Today - as much paid work as yesterday, which feels very odd, and I have several bits of things to do - builder phone calls, the garden as above, bits in the counselling room to be finished. One of the most energising things about this house, actually, is that I have a dishwasher:T:j:D:T:j:D:T:j its hard to describe what a difference its made to me - I have a little glow at it every morning

Hi KC I too am envious of your Liverpool trip. Most of my mums family are all scousers my mum was born in Everton. I laughed because when we first came here to live the kids at school thought my daughter sounded like kerry katona, thats what happens when you live in north wales we were called welsh scousers back home:rotfl: I love Liverpool and have lovely memories of all my nanna's family we used to visit them often and I love the pierhead and of course the revamped docks, lovely to have a wander round there.
Glad your happy with the dishwasher I wouldnt be without mine now they are wonderful.Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Loan 1 €[STRIKE]4885[/STRIKE] now 0. Loan 2 €29,590 now €0 as of 22/02/2016 Mgage €55000/ €23,639 at 01/02/18

My nan was born in Everton
her childhood memories contained lots of midnight flits, to avoid paying the rent
The Docks are amazing now, aren't they? Even the dock wall has been scrubbed, and now you can see the beautiful lines that went into it. Have you seen the new shopping centre, Liverpool One? Near to John Lewis, there's a kind of porthole in the floor, and if you look down through it and shade your eyes, you can see the original Liverpool dock, I think its the very first one built, back in the 1770s, the sloping brickwork that let the sailing ships lean against it and have their hulls worked on. Its amazing.

Ah KC, I am not a scouser. I lived in Widnes (you may know it) just outside Liverpool for most of my life.Although I was born in Derbyshire. I much prefer Liverpool to Manchester. I used to go into Liverpool a lot though and I really loved just wandering around. The new One centre is by far the best shopping centre as I much prefer the open air shopping. Its a shame that all of the big shops have moved up there leaving the main part a bit sad but that may have improved over the last year. I love the Albert Dock too, especially when the tall ships are in. Aigburth? Will you also pay a visit to Lark Lane, another of my favourite places.
I really miss going to the Liverpool Phil on a Thursday night after eating in the little cafe across the road and then into the Phil Dining Rooms for a pint after. The season will be just starting again and so I have just received their programme and it makes me feel a little sad that is one of the things that I really miss living in rural Wales.
I am sure you will have a great time.
Fantastic fares you got there. As Virgin own the Trainline you will always get the cheapest tickets there for Liverpool to London on the West Coast, although the cheapest I ever got was £11 doing it directly. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Aww I can just see you smiling at your dishwasher when you come down in the morning, patting it on the head and making it a cup of tea.. errr well perhaps not going quite that far!
Re buddleias - I took Alan Titchmarsh's advice last year - cut the top third or so off the plant (tree in our case!) in Autumn, then do the major cutting back in around March. I thought I'd really hacked ours back but it's still huge this year and looking much healthier - it'll be getting an even more severe haircut this time round!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I'm envious now, I've never been to Liverpool!! Are there any particularly 5-year old friendly places to go? I could try and plan to take DD over a school holiday when I'm feeling flush0
-
Thats a good idea about the buddleias - I'll try to limit it to one third, but I've really got to get it off the fence. Its a really nice fence, but not been weatherproofed, and if it falls down - mayhem!
Kittikins - wow, I really don't know. There must be! Albert Dock is amazing, and very child friendly (mummy friendly too, lots of nice eateries). Educational stuff at the museums there. Half an hour outside the centre on the train, plus a looongish walk, there's a real life red squirrel sanctuary, near the Formby Point lifeboat base.
This one would be my fantasy, however:

And you'd go on the ferry to get there! (all together now, "ferry, cross the Mersey, for this land's the place I love").... It doesn't seem particularly well advertised. Oh, and The Beatles Story. And Chinatown - not as big as London, of course, but still very fascinating.... There's all sorts.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
