That is loads ...well done0

Yep, very pleased with what I did - I even managed to sleep in till 7.30, which is a minor miracle these days.
Today, I'd better do the washing up before I go out (I have no dessert spoons left) and then I'm off out into town, a walk along the front, mooch about in some shops, whatever I fancy, really. Just a little local treat, while trying to keep out of too much sun.
Coming back, I have to vacuum the public areas of the house ready for work tomorrow, but thats about it. Holibob day!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Enjoy your Holibob day you deserve it after all you did yesterday.
I am going to try and do some work today I have been putting off for ages it is the only thing that keeps surfacing in my mind that is destroying my peace so I am just going to do it and then I can enjoy the rest of the week with the little ones without feeling guilty.

Thanks DT! Yep, when something is *looming* like that, best to do it, even if it is a holiday day.... then you really can have peace of mind. Hope it doesn't take too long.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Wow KC you will have green fingers at this rate. You have been so busy in the garden it will look lovely in no time. Just wanted to say were going to do some raised beds next year for the veggies, we have a polytunnel at the mo but would love some outdoor veg. Someone mentioned to me to be careful with the railway sleepers as they may be treated with a chemical which wouldnt be good for the veggies, so just wanted to pass that on.

Karma...enjoy your day sounds lovely and you deserve a break after all that hard work.
DT...That's a great idea to get whatever is bothering you done and out of the way..that is what I'm trying to do at the moment.0 -
No, turfy it won't, I'm sorry! Firstly, I'm selling, and secondly, I can't keep this level of work up indefinitely - its been much better than it is now, as I say, I'm reaching areas that were well under control 3 years ago. Its just too difficult without thousands of pounds spent on it, and I just don't have the money, which is why I'm leaving - the new garden is only 48' long, and its **flat**, thank heavens.
About the raised beds - yep, I might raise them a little at the new place, because of the dog wee, but as Fay says, it will disappear eventually - its used on compost heaps, so no problem. You're right about the sleepers - the ones I've been looking at are new ones, tbh - the old ones are sort of like a pesticide all on their own, yuk, with all that stuff thats on them.
You have a polytunnel! Wow! What do you grow??? Info please, cos that sounds *really* interesting.
I've just popped online as a cautionary tale, and a bit of a rant. I was waiting for the washing machine to finish before I went out, and thought, I know, I'll check on the amount of fiddly bits of money I have - paypal, lightspeed, nectar, blah blah. This is the list:
£34 paypal
£34 nectar
£46 tesco (face value, not deal value)
£24 amazon
£10 sainsbury
£10 lightspeed.
EDITED TO ADD:
- almost to £20 on iponts
- yougov - 2575 points.
Total of £158! Thats great. BUT  STUPIDITY ALERT  four cinema tickets and the £50 Virgin voucher from Sky have just expired - that was only two months ago. To say I'm annoyed would not be an exaggeration!
Still, I hadn't realised I had so much in the fiddly bits. Thats something - and my mission for today is to spend that Sainsbury voucher, I don't know how long I've had it, can't see an expiry date, but thats not going to go the same way too!
In updating this post, I just got myself just over 200 yougov points2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Excellent afternoon - mooched about looking at books in Waterstone's, wondering if I'll ever decide to go for the green website as an income stream. Then mooched about in Boots, and wandered around the touristy bits - then off to Sainsbury's, where it was *remarkably* difficult to spend the £10 voucher - I couldn't just splurge it, I couldn't, so I bought a few cheapo necessaries - kitchen gloves, cornflakes, stuff like that, and then bought good stuff on offer - conserve at £2 for 2 pots, bacon-alike chunks made of quorn, and two Taste the Difference cakes for £3
:D:D well I had to, didn't I?
Then I got the bus home with 3 minutes to spare, and watched a *fantastic* programme on The Queens of Country and Western    amazing stuff.
The little plants I potted out / on yesterday don't look very happy - I suppose thats to be expected at this stage. Maybe this is where I go wrong, I drown them when they're at their lowest ebb. Poor mites - but I'm hoping they'll recover.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Bad luck regarding the expired vouchers.
Good luck, though, with the planting - I am sure they will recover and thrive!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
It's amazing how much these little bits mount up.
Sorry to hear that the vouchers expired but nice that you managed a walk about and a bit of a mooch.0
