Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

Okay, now thats interesting! Thank you! Z, the Mr Muscle is in a squirty bottle, not an aerosol.... does that make it any better, or am I best to just chuck it out?

OOh, a chat on here, and I missed it  I had 5 hours of paid work yesterday, plus a meeting, so no time at all to come on here. But lots of cash in recompense!Sorry KC I forgot about your green views
i was thinking for of your arthritus and ease of cleaning.
Did the people where you are moving to have their offer accepted, or are they going to look to rent?
Not a problem, Pippajo - you can see from the discussion afterwards, and Z's analysis of what bleach is, that it isn't too much of a problem.
The people I'm moving to - yes, thanks, they had their offer accepted. Their estate agent knows who my solicitors are, and I've got the first paperwork from the solicitor, so it all seems to be moving ahead. I need to contact Nationwide, my mortgage people, to get their paperwork going.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

What I have ended up doing is getting two strong guys in once a week - they have done 10 hours each for two days so far - ie 40 hours, and still there is a lot to do......I would have taken all year to get 40 hours, by which time the first things that I would do would need doing again, and the job would STILL not look as though I had made any progress!
If I was staying here, Hypno, I think I might do the same - as it is, tho, it just needs a bit of cutting back and digging and whatnot from me, then I can absolutely keep the new place under control.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC I'm with you and using minimal amounts of these - I've one bottle of bleach in my cupboard - it normally lasts me a couple years but I do use it to clean my white formica (yup the kitchen here was put in 45 years ago! Its so cute!) I think sparingly using up stuff is OK......I often just use a toothbrush full or so - its pretty potent stuff isnt it - then a couple of wash downs Thats a good idea.
But that's just me! Sounds like you've a lot on but getting there. Thats absolutely right - this morning, for instance, while I was waiting for the kettle to boil, I had two shelves in the cupboard that were almost empty, so I took the remaining few bits out and wiped them down. There's less to put back cos of the decluttering, so I can empty shelves from the ensuite into there. Its all good!
Since discovering stardrops I can't say I've bought anything else aside one bottle of bleach over the past couple of years! :j:j:j
I can't say alot of the 'green' cleaning products work so very well for me - but thougth it was just me - the frugal part of our life has meant like many of you - I'm hunting for cheaper/greener/friendlier solutions to cleaning/washing etc. I've dramatically reduced what we do use and gradually dwindling all of those kinds of purchases. Being green and frugal is quite hard -Yes it is! I have some ideas about that for my green website, if it ever gets off the ground.
Speaking of things more environmentally friendly I've recently borrowed my SIL steam cleaner - and WOW - no chemicals - purely water and the house I'm moving out of is beginning to look really sparkly - hadn't thought of using it on the kitchen work tops but might give it a bash. I've not one of my own but seriously considering getting one - zero effort aside a wee wipe after you've whooshed it with steam. NO CHEMICALS - its ace.
Anyone you know got one? Ahem. Believe it or not, I have a steam cleaner of sorts - when I moved here, there were 5 layers of wallpaper in the living room, so I bought a wallpaper steamer. For £28 or so. I've been thinking of using it to steam the creases out of a nice jacket I have. I could use it for stuff in the kitchen too :rotfl:
Sorry morning - the coffee not kicked in yet!!:rotfl:
:coffee::coffee::coffee: I know its late, but one for you, one for me, and one for anyone else who wants to kick by :beer:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Tend to use washing up liquid for most things and lemon juice/ the remains of lemons I've used for juice to cut through grease or for making the stainless steel sink all shiny.. oh and vinegar for glass and mirrors. I must admit it's a mystery to me why people need to scrub every inch of the house with an assortment of products all the time though, I think a lot of it is advertising scaremongering, all these images of big scary bacteria needing to be blitzed by their amazing products or we'll all be poisoned... *steps off soap(ahem) box*
Nice soap box there :kisses3: I think we're all in agreement here - I am, anyway!
Vinegar. I don't use vinegar for cleaning yet. Must change that, in the new house.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning! Well, as I said, lots of paid work yesterday, and a fair old bit today - to be honest tho, when its like that, I just don't have enough concentration left for the trading. I thought I did, but I don't - there was a 14 point move over 15 minutes on one of the things I watch, and if I'd had the guts to stay in (its still going in the same direction) it would've been 120 points and climbing. But I just didn't see it, even tho the signal is quite clear
:o:o. Still, it was 5 hours work yesterday, finishing at 7pm, plus another meeting as well, and thats unheard of these days, tho it used to be normal. Such is life.
Today's list:
- talk to my building society about porting the mortgage (I did before I started this whole process, its kind of a foregone conclusion, just need to get the wheels in motion).
- do the washing up - oh dishwasher, dishwasher, I hear you calling me!
- ebay.
- free gmtv comps - my sister will let me use her phone numbers too, so the chances have just doubled :rotfl:
- social stuff - emails and facebook and what have you.
- plus 3.5 hours paid work this afternoon, and then my phone call to my mum.
Its a busy day again!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
