    Stupid Alastair Darling, grrr. If he'd put the stamp duty limit for everyone at £250,000, he'd have just saved me £2,500.

    He has shafted me as well KarmaCat - my one treat is to walk (slowly and painfully!) the couple of hundred yards to the local pub and have lunch and a couple of ciders - my money isn't going up any and cider is going to be taxed at 10% ABOVE inflation.

    So the revival of the British cider industry is now dead in the water, all the orchards will be grubbed up and sold for [STRIKE]cardboard boxes[/STRIKE] affordable housing, country pubs will close with the loss of more jobs (meaning people can't afford the [STRIKE]cardboard boxes[/STRIKE] affordable housing) and all this is to revive the economy? Hmm why didn't he leave things as they were but get them to pass a law saying the supermarkets cannot be given licences to sell alcohol (no more 45 pints of Stella for £8!)

    Sorry bit miffed at the moment :o

    Thanks Squizz! Don't know what else has happened on the budget, I've actually had some work to do :o

    Ah well ... I only heard about the possible change in the stamp tax early this morning, so I wasn't hoping for long :( still, it would've helped!

    Loads of cleaning still to do, but after the basics ( like washing the dishes :cool:) I'll have to stop, a couple of fingers feel like the joints are on fire. I'd better hurry up and be a millionaire, thats all I can say :cool:

    Always makes me laugh: On one hand they can often be heard complaining about the suicide rate, and on the other they keep taxing the bejesus out of everything people enjoy...

    I'm not surprised! Sorry I didn't see your post yesterday, Dragon, it was very near to being a crosspost between us, I think. Loved what you wrote about the [STRIKE]cardboard boxes[/STRIKE] affordable housing.

    Thanks! I did ease off after I posted, thanks. It looks kind of normal now - I was doing things that people consider as a spring clean - but I never do it :o so its really tough when I do finally do it :o

    He's been and gone by now, of course - he scared me to death at first, warning me that the local market has changed within the last 6 weeks :eek: but basically he's saying, instead of putting it on at £300k and accepting £270k, put it on at £280k and accept £270k. I think its more likely to be £260k, which is still doable, but we'll see. He's coming back on Tuesday to take the photies. And he told me not to bother decluttering :eek::eek::eek: tho I think he was looking at the mantelpiece.

    I'm doing it :eek::eek::eek:
