We are thinking about having TalkTalk broadband and wondered if anyone has already joined up. What is the service like, what sort of support is available, what is the speed, does the line drop our every so often as so many people are using it, etc.?
Any advice/help will be appreciated.

Say no more.
I eventually moved to Madasafish. I am quite happy but lots of people have issues with 5Gb limit.0 -
id wait until september at least before joining up with talk talk, they're relying on a lot of the exchanges being opened by BT in June, but unless they come to an agreement then its not going to happen.0

Absolute nightmare !!!!
Talk Talk got me to sign up ( under pressure on a Saturday afternoon shopping trip to Sainsburys ).
Told the rep I was moving home and would wait - but he put the hard sell on and told me it was simple to change my details !!!
Set it up and heard nothing. called them to say I was moving and they said STAY WITH BT - WE CANT MOVE YOU TO A NEW TELEPHONE NUMBER.
I sent them a letter and told them I wanted nothing to do with them.
Moved house, and got a redirected letter from TT telling me I owed them money for line rental for a line that was disconnected. They left me on hold for over AN HOUR then CUT ME OFF - then CLOSED THE LINE AS IT WAS 8PM. The staff were sarcastic and I had to take time off work to stay in and call them at 8am when they opened. Only contact number is an 0870 number which in total left me with a £10 bill for calling them to correct THEIR INCOMPETENCES.
Oh and they ILLEGALLY took the line from BT as BT instructed them that I was staying with them not Talk Talk - but yet Talk Talk took the line regardless - THEN told ME it was BT who were at fault.
My three months will be up soon, and after nothing but a measly letter from Carphone Warehouse Head Office, I shall be contacting Offcom.
So, again, I wouldnt recommend Talk Talk - but its up to you !!! Just some friendly advice.0 -
Agree with you laura2506
TalkTalk are USELESS!
I've got a final demand letter for £57 even thou I cancelled less than a month ago. Trying to sort on the phone is a JOKE. They are heading for a BIG fall on this broadband thing as their cust serv is Crap!

They are muppets and Martin has blindly endorsed their "offer" of "free" broadband without considering that alternative providers can't be used. Well, actually, he did, but didn't bother to look into the prices that TalkTalk charge - there is another thread in this formum where someone was charged £48 for a three minute call to Australia. TalkTalk are con-artists and I'm sorry to see they have temporarily pulled the wool over Martin's eyes, but I'm sure he'll see sense soon...
No, dont worry. I certainly DID NOT pay the bill !!!
I called them and challenged what was happening and they tried to get me to pay but I wrote their head office a letter and stated my case - and that I would take them to Offcom, and they replied and told me all charges were waivered - but its the fact that they had the gall to charge me in the first place when THEY told ME to cancel and then still went ahead with the transfer even when BT refused !!!
Con artists !!!0
