I have 2 cats and would like to know peoples views on which cat litter is good i doesnt have to be the cheapest but i dont want to spend a load on it either there are different types pellets, crystals and loose ash looking stuff and obviously anything that masks the smell is great and of course i would like litter that lasts as long as possible.
thankyou very much
I would like to know where to purchase it from,i should add i havent got a credit card so it will have to be in a store

    Hi there,
we use 'Biocatolet' & are happy with it: It's soft (one of ours won't use the harder litter type - think it hurts her paws) and can also be composted afterwards (we do take the poo out first!). We get it from Sainsburys, but I think it also has it at Pets at Home? Cost-wise, its probably fairly middle of the road - not the cheapest, but not the most expensive - if I remember rightly, its £4 or £5 for 12 litres.

Pura a brand made in India. Greatest stuff every. It has a lavender or baby powder smell, the pee is just lumps you scoop up and crap is like something out of King Tut's tomb dried and hard. Sorry if you are eating. Fill it up and just remove waste and top up, I have not fully emptied my litter tray for 18 months. As no smell even when bending over and scooping out. I have two cats by the way. A 20 litre bag is £11.99 now gone up recently.

Do a google of the name and it should give outlets who stock it. For some reason in N.Ireland the big stores don't. A friend who has 5 persians swears by the stuff too after trying many different ones.

Definitely Pura Moonlight litter!!!! I have started using it recently after the likes of catsan, etc, but this one is the best. It clumps well, easy to clean up, no smell and lasts for ever!

Now, anyone knows who sells os cheapest with no extortionate delivery prices (I have not seen in it in nay shops around where I live - North west)

  • I like tesco value litter, nice fine texture and colour (nicer than other own brand ones) £1,18 for 10 L can't go wrong. with a covered try it works well enough and is masses cheaper than posher ones which I didn't find any better.

After Tesco discontinued the Hygiene litter, I went onto value through recommendations and no problems with it.

i used to use pura moonlight, which cost me about £7something for about 5L (i could be wrong on the size!!) from pampurred pets, as i cant fit the big bag under the baby buggy, but then i discovered pura do another cat litter called clever cat which is basically exactly the same and its £10something for 10L. i would say to anyone that uses moonlight to try it, cos it really does the same job, has a stronge perfume to it (roses :rotfl: cat poo has never smelled of roses before!!) and it is that bit cheaper.

    Hiya Donna

This sounds like a good product, seems popular in the thread to,
I am very interested to know in the 18 months...

    1) How many bags of Pura have you gone through/ used exactly in this 18 month time period ?

    2) What size bag/s?

    Do you use the 20L?

    Cheers

I use Thomas BUT it has gone up from £2.49 to £2.79 NOW £3.09 for 8 litre. It is so heavy so Corner shop is handy when he can get it.

There are stories of the dust being dangerous!!

This may be my last reply!!
