Graham dear, you want prices to fall for the greater good so that average people can afford them, correct?
How do you think prices fall? They fall by people accepting lower offers.
You first please.
Lower offers than what? Peak? 5 months ago? 9 months ago?
They fall by people accepting their houses are no longer worth what they were and buyers paying what they are now worth.
You implied I wanted people to do what I wouldn't and accept low offers, i.e. lower than what they are worth according to the market. Something I neither implied, suggested, or said.0 -
She has either gone or is typing one of those really long posts that'll make your head spin Graham. Best to scan it, take a key phrase out of context and call her a troll.0

Interesting article here http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/mortgages-and-homes/house-prices/article.html?in_article_id=490530&in_page_id=57&position=moretopstories
Dunno whether it's VI stuff, cash buyers spent up, bank of M+D spent up (or just received their pension forecasts), or everybody queueing at EAs so no time for auctions...0 -

OK, Graham, so what makes people actually sell their houses? Why would anyone sell at a loss when they don't have to?
If you want falls of 50% below peak, someone has to start selling at 50% below peak. So why don't you start the ball rolling?0 -

LOL.
Here we go again. Suggesting stuff I haven't even said. Total ignorance of my "market value" part, how convinient.
Who is suggesting anyone sells at a loss? We have just had the biggest boom we have ever known, most having plenty of equity if they bought pre 2005. But you are now resorting to "why would people sell at a loss".
I feel theres no real point in discussing this any further, as anything I come up with, you resort to acting dumb, and then later on, you will probably tell me you are far more intelligent than me, so you are right, end of.0 -
I have the popcorn ready and am sitting comfortable.0
