Cancelling Virgin Media services?

Options
Hi, was hoping someone may have had a similar experience that can help me out! I have had a contract with Virgin Media for a short period of time now and have had enough with them (for various reasons I won't go into). I would like to cancel but understand that since I have a minimum contract of 12 months this isn't so straight forward. What is the charge for canceling early? Is it best to just stick it out the year?

Many thanks for any advice given.

  • The charge will be your monthly fee multiplied by however long you have left in your minimum term, plus possibly a penalty clause.

Pay £40 a month and entered your 12 month contract 2 months ago? Give them £400 and they'll let you out :(

The max they can charge you is £120, its an ofcom thing mentioned in other posts.
You will need to give a 30 day notice and pay any money owned plus cancellation.
  • You should try and downgrade all of your services to minimum before cancelling which should reduce the fee when you cancel.
  • Many thanks for the advice given.

when i took the TV off my package they entered me into another contract without my knowledge. Their disconnection fee is £70. I have thus far refused to pay it as i wasn't told i had to have a new contract. I switched to BT for my broadband, and god are they crap. wish i'd stuck with virgin now!
