Hi again
Update: Am using barelyfitz.com
I have managed to find where the images are stored on my website, added 3 to start off with, created the HTML code and pasted into my site. I am feeling quite ecstatic becauese it works - sort of!
When I use large-ish photo pics (width by height, not file size) the slideshow plays so fast on the website that the three pictures are viewed all at the same time making the screen look like it is flickering - not a great look! That is using the default 3 second slide duration option.
I changed the pics I used to thumbnails stored in the same folder/place on the website and the slideshow plays perfectly but with very very tiny pics.
So, is the first problem caused by the picture size? How do I correct it, as I am not sure how to enter this info properly in Step 3 under window attributes.
I expect I am a bit of a boring problem now but if i could crack this problem I would be over the moon. Thanks again everyone.0 -

Hi
Had a quick look at this site and as a beginner it is way over my head but thank you for suggesting it. Any help is appreciated. I think I may have a bit more success with the barelyfitz.com wizard.0 -
Do you have Photoshop? If you do you can create web albums automatically from the File menu, very simple and effective...0

Not gone well for me. I have created a slideshow and the end result is a URL address. I have no idea how to add that to my website so that that whatever page it goes on play the slideshow when someone navigates to it. I was thinking it would provide the HTML code to cut and paste into my site. Sorry if that's a silly assumption - I am very much a newbie to this stuff.
Jalbum has an easy way to upload the images to a folder in your own site - it even has built in ftp. Image compression is done automatically so no sideshow speed of loading issues either. Jalbum is very easy to use once you get past the set-up stage. If you got as far as being given a URL, then I assume it is the url of your slideshow as hosted by Jalbum. Have a look and se what iot looks like!
Once you have set up a Profle for your own website (it's location, your user name and password for ftp upload) , the rest is as per this easy to read tutorial:

look through Jquery menu's such as http://docs.jquery.com/Tutorials
this one looks ok for whatr you need http://sixrevisions.com/demo/slideshow/final.html
Just follow the tutorial and it should work straight away, http://sixrevisions.com/tutorials/javascript_tutorial/create-a-slick-and-accessible-slideshow-using-jquery/
You just add the javascript in the <head></head> tags and add the code to the html
if you would like to me to write it up for you so you can have it working straight away, then i can as its a simple job really.Silenced by the Gestapo :rotfl:0 -

I would love to have photoshop - both for this kind of thing and also to edit the background out of photos etc - but I can't afford it. Thanks though for the idea.0
