New o2 online payg tariffs

Options
I see as of today o2 have changed there online pay as you go tariffs. They now offer something similar to Orange with there new text tariff. Top up £10 and get 300 texts, £15 500 texts and £30 1000 texts. Talk anytime is similar with 50, 100 or 150 mins respectively. And finally talk off peak, where you get 100, 150 or 300 off peak minutes depending on level of top up. I think before you could top up £15 and get free off peak minutes and free texts so a bit of a turn for the worst from o2.

I dont think this affects people who are already on the old tariffs.

I prefer the old tariff which im on where you top up £10 and get 100 units to use on voice or texts, now they've halved the allowance to 50 and its only for voice minutes. Would I still be able to stay on the old tariff?

    Yes, until you change tariff.
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!

I also prefer the old tariff - it's so much better. I've changed it to the new tariff on my mum's phone thinking i'll get 150 minutes but I didn't read it carefully enough "up to 150 minutes". You do get 100 minutes if you top up £15 a month and 150 minutes if you top up a crazy £30 a month!

I've tried to change back to the old tariff by texting ONCALLSMSG to 21300 but o2 says the tariff doesn't exist anymore! DOH! Are there any other pay as you go out there that beats o2 or is there any way I could change it back to 100 minutes? :o

I guess I could top up £15 a month, get 100 minutes free allowance and get a Home 100 bolt on that costs £9.99 a month. This gives me 200 minutes (100 minutes at home and 100 minutes anywhere else) leaving me £5 (pay as you go) credit to spend each month.

I agree that the new tariffs are much worse than the old ones. I used to reccommend O2 to almost everyone for Pay as you Go, but now it's nothing special.

I wonder if O2 would consider making their old tariffs available for people who wanted them?

    Jamie.
