Ryanair - Golf Clubs

when i travel abroad golfing with friends i normally place 2 sets of clubs in smaller golf bags in one travel bag, i have had no issues with this

last week a colleague of mine travelled with ryanair doing the same with 2 sets but was asked at check in how many sets he had in the bag, to which he replied 2 (why i dont know) he was then charged for the extra set!

in 3 weeks 12 of us are golfing using ryanair, so does anyone have any experience of this? is it worth just taking one bag in one travel bag? costing an extra £30 each?

many thanks

  • I would also be keen to clarify Ryanair's golf club policy.

4 of us are travelling next month with our clubs. We have all paid the £60 golf club charge. Do you know what the weight limit is for clubs? We plan to just pack all our clothes with the clubs to avoid paying for hold luggage.

I have visions of us getting to check in and them being really arsey about it.
