nope :( same tax credits as this year. Big ouch. Maybe I should go back for a bit. Hmmmmn, tricky....

If you do go back, it's only what you earn in those eight weeks that count when working out the 90%, so (the way I understand it) you need to go back for all of those to maximise the figure which is less than the eight weeks notice away :( Obviously don't know what period they look at to work out your half company pay.

    Do work know yet?

nope, not telling work or parents til 2nd trimester.:o

Well it makes me feel slightly better, cos Id have to have given notice of early return before I even knew about the PG, so not much I could do to avoid it!

Vain hope: Elle d'you think KIT days count as earnings? I think if I did all 10 in that window I'd just scrape the £90 threshold...

Glam - I would loved to have a cuddle with your Jack, and to compare him to Liam, as they they had similar birth weights, I can't remember Liam being so small and it was only a few weeks ago :)

Ooohhh.. you might be on to something there!;)

If you're daily rate is over £95 and you do one a week, then, yes, it'll count as earnings and you'd get SMP (I think!). One thing to remember though is that you'd only be getting 90% of the amount you earnt then, not 90% of your usual full pay.

It'd get you across the threshold for SMP and, maybe with some luck, if your company pay qualifying terms are the same (ie "if you get SMP, you get Comp pay too") then you'd get that too, presumably at half of your full pay (as per your contract).
