I'm trying to get the monster to understand night and day by keeping the room dark and not talking too much to her when she should be sleeping. Husband just isn't getting it - he talks to her constantly but thinks that because he's speaking softly it's ok, and I'm also trying to get her to associate night time with the crib but he wants to cosleep with her as much as possible so he orchestrates it so she falls asleep on his chest on the sofa and moving her will wake her.

My hubby's the same. I settle her in the dark bedroom at about 9:30pm. Then if she stirs I go in, pat/feed/ssshhh/cuddle her. Sometimes i'm in there for ages. I might even have to do it a few times. Then like last night, hubby will suddenly spring into life and go and get her if she stirs thereby undoing all my evenings work. Does he think that I go and sit in a darkened room with her for fun?!!!

Then the really annoying part, He asks 'why isnt she in a routine yet'?

Speaking of hubbys and sleeping babies.. Rhys has been asleep on OH for the last 90mins. So much for attempting a routine once we got the bedroom back! Rhys always sleeps in the evening (and subsequently not at night!) so I really need to get him sleeping in his crib for these hours.. as much as it will pain me not being able to see him :o
  • Ah I found ya :D
