My german shepherd has the black kong and is totally obssessed with it! he takes it everywhere in the house with him and puts it on our lap and sits and waits for us to throw it for him and if we ignore him he paws us lol.
he runs after it in the garden and brings it back to be thrown again.if it gets lost he cries for it and wont let up til its found! the strange thing is,its never been filled with anything but he just loves it as it is and has done since he was a little baby.......awwwww bless!!
the old lab whos 12 cant be bothered with it and doesnt like it at all and thinks sabre is totally stupid for doting on a cone shaped piece of rubber when she would much rather wait for the biscuit barrel to open lol0 -
I've just spread a small fingertip of peanut butter on my 8 week old's kong and it seems like its upset her belly. From being very boisterous she went very quiet had a sleep for a while and then the farts and runs, I guess she's too young for it. So I'm wondering can someone suggest something else I can use as she does not seem to interested in it empty but prefers, hand, feet, curtains and everything else in sight.0

I have not found a Kong yet that is dog proof. All mine manage to chew off the thinner end everytime.I had never heard of a kong before until reading a post on hear i have just looked at them breiefly can the dog not distroy the kong itself ? are they any good ,i have 2 elderly springer spaniels and i think these will be ideal .I am wondering where to buy them from ive looked on pets at home website ,they have a large black one but its £16.99 i need two do they do them cheaper any where else ? Also whats the best food to put inside them ,a food which will hopefully take a while to get out
I find the balls are better for dogs as they definitely can't chew that into bits.0 -

I've bought a lot of Kong toys from Vetuk.co.uk my mini schnauzer manages to destroy pretty much anything we give her, but her favourits things are glasses, mobile phones NEW shoes and anything else she can get her paws on, even when we are in the room, she'll slide around the sofas so we don't see her........little monkeys would have been much less trouble0

viovet.co.uk may be worth a look aswell.
my dogs love their kongs - cheese or peanut butter are their fav options

My vet suggested putting dairylea or Philadelphia in the kong, my pup loves it

as someone already said, when first using one make the stuffing easy to get to. mine has
banana, apple
cream cheese
cottage cheese
yogurt
nature diet
biscuit
bits of chicken or other meat
all frozen, he loves it, cant wait for me to leave lol as i give them when im out a while.
they are worth their weight in gold. he is a hefty labrador and has the red ones.0 -
Mine love kongs but somehow they lose them - i think it's the pesky westie as she is a digger and buryer. They are not expensive for how good they are, but it is expensive when you have to replace them so often
Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea0
