I got older dogs kong from pets at home for my border collie, she loves it something rotten, i use little doggie chocolate treats in the bottom, gravy bones in the side and on top i normally use like soft bacon biscuit type things but for dogs come in the sealed packets can't remember what they are called. It takes her hours!

i got perry's from pets at home, he has 2 kongs, one puppy, one normal size, a rectangle one, and a kong ball, he loves them and hasn't manage to destroy one yet, he could distroy the sofa but not the kong, well worth itLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0

Got some medium sized kong-a-likes from naughtypaws.co.uk, very cheap at about 79p each. Have so far lasted my 16 week old springy spangles for 3 weeks, and they are doing some serious gnawing

my westie chewed a third of his kong off within days of getting it but he loves his 'two-thirds' kong - he treats it like it's his baby0

Kongs are great it isnt the actual kong that the dogs love it is the food or treats that they are stffed with. The harder it is for the dog to get at the food the longer they will play with the kong. So try and jam larger treats in and the dogs will be happier for longer.
Kongs are ideal for dogs when they are being left alone at home.
Try Surry Pet Supplies online store, they are pretty reasonable on price and pretty quick with delivery.0 -
A tip i was given was to buy the next size up from the one recommended as the dog will out grow the kong before its destroyed
When you first start to fill them, pack them quite loose so your dog is rewarded quite quickly and wont lose interest. As the dog gets used to the idea of the kong then start making it harder to get the treats.
I also like to smear a bit of cream cheese, peanut butter, marmite, fish paste on the insides so they have something to really work at getting for a while after they have it emptied0 -
My dalmatian has had one since she was a puppy and hers is still fine.. and she once ate an iron!Starting my DMP Journey.0

Although the black kong is recommended for power chewers, my bull terrier regarded it as a challenge and managed to chew the top off after a few weeks.
I've found that the dental kong lasts much longer because she plays with it rather than going for the all out destruction - the one she's got now has lasted for months.

Well worth it to save the furniture, shoes, carpet.......
Nylabones are very good if you just want something for them to chew on.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I bought some of the fruit things to have with cheese from Approved foods - they are stupidly cheap at the moment (best before Feb 09
) 50p for a box of 12. I wouldn't suggest these for dogs with a dodgy digestion, but my two have the constitution of small horses. They love the pear fruit thingy stuffed in a Kong - it's very sticky, so you can wedge it in and it doesn't drop out (when they drop it down the stairs - yes Barney, I saw you LOL) Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
