Nokia E71?

Is it worth getting the Nokia E71 on contract as my upgrade is due next week?

It would depend what your main use of the phone is.

For example it is a brilliant phone with an incredible battery life, but has a very average camera, so maybe if you told us what you want from the phone we could better advise you?

    Hi

yes it would be used for a bit of email, browsing and general text messages with the occasional photo.

Its a fantastic phone. Just the camera lets it down a little. Its great outside but not too clever in doors.

Everything else is the best i have had for a long time (even better than the Blackberry offerings) and the new Nokias (they all feel very cheap...especially the N97)

    Then yes, highly recommended :)
  • I'd maybe wait and get the E72 .. i wish my E71 had a compass (the satnav is very useful).

It's got some annoying software bugs, but its a great phone overall. Oh yes, and buy yourself a 2.5->3.5mm adaptor from carphone warehouse for £5.

If you're getting it on a heavily discounted tariff from vodafone like I am, then you should get it.

Just for reference purposes, yesterday I managed to get the following deal for the Nokia E71 (all you have to do is phone them up and say a few people you know have got the same deal, they will put you on hold, and will say they can do it for you on a personal discount).

Free Nokia E71 on 18 month contract - 1200 xnet mins, unltd texts, unltd landlines, unltd mobile internet for £25/m (they were also doing 900 minutes for £22.50).

The 50% discount is for 15 out of the 18 months, but you can then upgrade/renogiate after month 15 again.

If you get someone on the phone that says they cannot do it, hang up and phone again, it may take a few tries, but someone will authorise it (I was lucky to get it on the first go).
Try to imagine nothing ever existed...

Record the conversation if you can! the amount of people complaining about promised deals that don't materialise on here is huge!
:p It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

Not to worry, I have already learnt from previous experience with them. I have already had the deal confirmed by someone else via their system.

My tariff: Three (i know but no issues in 5 years...and yes i have another contract i cancelled without issue).
    Mix & Match 700
    Price (after loyalty discount) - £18p/m :D
  • They told me that they don't do loyalty discounts.

Even though my wife and I have contracts with them.
