Earn miles on Flying Blue or Skywards? Please help!

Hey,
I have a frequent flyer account with both Skywards/Emirates (balance = 30000 miles) and Flying Blue/KLM (balance = 10932).
I prefer using my Skywards wherever possible, simply because I tend to find it simpler to use, but I tend to take more flights with Sky Team airlines hence my membership of Flying Blue. I'd really appreciate it if you could spend a second looking at my situation below and giving me some advice:
I'm about to fly to New York from Manchester with Continental airlines. I can earn miles for this flight with both reward schemes. From what I can gather, my booking class (S) only entitles me to 25% of the miles with Flying Blue, but on Skywards I get 100% of the miles credited.
The reason I hesitate in just using Skywards is because I am also flying to Singapore in December, this time with Air France. From what I remember from the booking process, I will earn around 3500 miles with this flight.
Based on this info, which programme should I use for the Continental flight to maximise the miles and benefits I will receive?
Thanks!

After the April changes, I would avoid FB. The charges on award flights are considerably higher than most others, as are the miles required to take award flights.
I cannot really comment on Skywards, but feedback from others has certainly been more positive than FB.Gone ... or have I?0 -
For your Continental flight, I'd agree with you on putting the miles into Skywards.
I would start a Delta Skymiles account to capture your Flying Blue miles. The taxes are still bad with Delta but at least you'll get 100% mileage credit on your Air France fares. Your flight to Singapore with AF should capture 12k miles on Skymiles instead of the paltry 3.5k with FB.0 -

Thanks for that! Do you know if I am able to transfer the balance of my FB miles to a new Delta account?0 -

Agreed, I know someone that had ten times that amount expire! Altough I'm not complaining, I got a nice little Premiere trip to the US out of it. In hindsight, I wish I'd booked three more!Gone ... or have I?0 -
If you are trying to fly at Xmas to Singapore with Air France book it quick. I've had a stressful morning trying to book a return for 4 - opodo crashed out 3 times whilst trying to book. Original flight pricing was £1743 for us all, but on the 4th attempt it had jumped to 2400....few hours of panic later, was able to book on ebookers for 1800 all in, but a lot of the choice and dates had all increased in price. Have a good trip:cool: cazwasere :hello:
2008 wins about £45.... but I know the big one is just round the corner....0
