Using PAC code from Three...
Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone has transferred their number from Three recently?
I tried using a PAC code last month to move my number to Orange, but Orange said there was something wrong with the PAC code.
Now when I received my first PAC code by text, I was also sent another text message with a link to the following: http:// mobile.three.co.uk/sdf /transfer.
I was not able to ever use that link.
Since the first attempt was unsuccessful, Three told me that I had to wait another 30 days for another PAC code (this really pi**ed me off, as it was either Orange or Three that f***ed up the transfer, and I had to end up paying another months line rental).
Enter today, I have again received my PAC code and a link to http://mobile.three.co.uk/sdf/transfer.
Again, I cannot access this site from either the three mobile, any mobile or even my computer. I have a feeling that this was the cause of Orange being unable to transfer the number the first time round?
So, can I just use the PAC code, or do I have to do something with that link provded (which I can't bloody accesss!)...
Any ideas guys? I don't want to fork out for another bloody month to Three (bloody thieves), and I have to transfer my number tomorrow or Vodafone wont accept it.

Are your wap settings correct on the Three mobile - suspect you need to access that transfer link from your mobile.0
-
Normally yes - somewhere in your internet settings.
I dont know what the three web settings are which you have to enter to make your phone connect to net.
All peculiar - I would either expect a letter, a text, email or verbally to tell you the PAC code.0 -
Try http://www.three.co.uk/Help_Support/About_my_mobile/Software_settings
and click Over the Air to get the settings sent to you on mobile.0 -
Thanks dude!Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0

It is more sly than peculiar.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0

The link still isn't working. It keeps saying something like; 'sorry, this is a mobile internet address, please use the internet browser in your three phone...'
Which is what I am bloody doing :STry to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
Might be leading you the up path then by suggesting try to install Opera Mini browser.
It might be easier to phone and tell them you cannot access the damn url and give you a working PAC code.0 -
A thread on another forum on the subject
http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/showthread.php?p=410794
And another
http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/404444/opportunity-to-cancel-your-3-mobile/showthread.php?t=404444&page=11
Seems to suggest all that link shows is terms and conditions, so its a case of using the new PAC and see if it works this time.0 -
Thanks again for your time OneADay, I managed to get the link working on the mobile eventually and you were right.
It did however say at the end of the link to call them to confirm cancellation of the contract prior to using the PAC code...
It would have been nice to have actually been TOLD that by Three...Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0
