Cheap deal on w900i or w810i

Recently purchased a Sony Ericsson w900i and the cheapest deals I could find were from the Vodafone stores. Currently you get £50 credit (£100 if it's a 3G handset), free phone (didn't take much battering to get rid of the £30 cost), free speakers, 10% off the line rental and the stop the clock offer etc. Also as I took out a student deal you get free text and picture messages - which is unlimited. Ended up on the student anytime 200 tarif for £27 per month.

Almost bought a w810i from Orange as they are currently giving £100 credit if you exchange an old phone which puts it in line with the cheapest deals you can get from OSPS etc but without the hassle of the cashback claims.

I moved over from three so wasn't with Vodafone either. It's cheaper to do it in a Vodafone store as you don't get the credit onto your bill if you go via the website as it's an instore only offer.

I just told the sales advisor that it was between themselves and Orange and bartered the cost down a bit. The actual tariff with the free text messages is just their standard student one.

Yes it had to be on an 18 month tariff for vodafone but I felt that with getting a nice phone it would be good to get the free picture messages, as I wouldn't send them if they were the usual 36p each!
