Are u serious in america u have to pay for incoming calls?

Yes, because in the US calling a mobile costs no more than calling a standard landline. In order to cover their costs the networks charge for incoming calls. I believe some even charge to receive an SMS.

You can still get the 12 month deals with decent phones.

Orange now have 36 month tariffs on their web site - hope they can guarantee the phones can last that long.

The phones offered are very basic, less to go wrong, and you get a new phone after 18 months anyway
